Privacy policy

Canadian Ugly Christmas Sweaters is a small Canadian shop. We collect only what we need to make, ship and support your order, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

• Your name, email, phone (optional) and shipping address when you place an order.
• Your email and cart, if you start checkout and don’t finish, so we can send you one reminder.
• Anything you put on a custom design: text, names for the back, and your logo (we keep the stitch-by-stitch version of it, plus a preview, so we can check it before it’s knitted).
• Your name, email, organization and order details if you ask us for a team quote.
• Payment details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
• Your email address, if you tick the box to join our email list.
• Basic browsing statistics (pages visited, device type, rough location) through Google Analytics.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

• Our production and fulfilment partner knits or prints and ships your order, so it receives your name, shipping address, contact details and design.
• Stripe processes your payment.
• Resend delivers our order, shipping and email-list messages.
• Google Analytics measures how the site is used, with cookies.
• Discord carries our internal alerts about new orders and team quote requests.

Some of these companies store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

Our email list

If you join, we keep your email address and when and where you signed up, as a record of your consent under Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). We use it only for the occasional email about new designs, offers and Christmas order-by dates, and we never sell or share the list. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can email us. Unsubscribing doesn’t affect emails about orders you place.

Cookies and analytics

Your cart is kept in your own browser so the shop works; it’s never used to track you. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. You can block them in your browser settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on, and the shop works exactly the same.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years). Unfinished checkouts, quote requests and logo files are deleted when they’re no longer useful.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@canadianuglychristmassweaters.ca. We’ll reply within 30 days.
